Let’s have a fresh start of the month by keeping our neighborhood clean!
After picking up trash on the street alone for a while, Kanae was thinking how nice it would be to have more friends to join her. That’s why she planned this street cleanup event with Nagoya's biggest meetup group, Small World.
Every month, we select an area to clean up for an hour, have free yoga session and grab some lunch afterwards. We collect an average of 40~60kg of garbage each month.
This is a great opportunity to keep our neighborhood clean, meet like minded people, make Mother Nature happy, and simply have fun outside!
We are teaming up with Ocean Conservancy to be a part of an ICC (International Costal Cleanup) campaign by providing them with valuable data to determine which trash items are most problematic, and give insight into other ways to tackle the enormous and growing problem of land/marine debris. They have been conducting this research for more than 30 years with 100+ countries collecting over 220 million pounds of trash.
